This service covers the disciplines of physical, occupational and speech and language pathologists. Rehabilitation services assist with the improvement of daily living and self care skills, strength and mobility improvement, pain relief, recovery of writing, speaking and reading skills, and assistance with feeding difficulties for patients with disabilities.
The availability of SUN Home's nurses to assist with patient wound care management and provide direct patient care involving ostomies, incontinence, draining wounds, pressure ulcers and wound debridement. Wound care includes care of the wound as well as patient education and nutritional assessment and instruction as related to optimal wound healing.
SUN Home's nurses administer infusion therapies in the home including medication regimes such as antibiotics, antifungals, pain control, cardiac, acute symptom management, central line care, hydration, chemotherapy and nutritional support such as TPN. Patient teaching and education are an important part of the infusion nurse's role and the nurse is available 24 hours everyday to assist with this service and the patient's needs.
